Lunch at Saint Jean de Fos

which is just around the corner from the Pont de Diable which is on the way to Saint Guilhem le Desert. We had driven within feet of this restaurant while turning the car around a few weeks ago, but it took people in the know, Charlie and Jeanette, to show us the way to the door. There were tables set outside, but it was just too windy, so we went in to a lovely dining room, lots of space between the tables, but only three tables occupied. So we sat, and after two and a half hours, we finally got up and left, but not before we enjoyed this wonderful meal.
This is my scampi with crème brulée de avocat.
Les and Charlie had the grilled foie gras with asperagus.
For the main course, both Jeanette and I opted for the sea bass, sitting on minced mushrooms with a lovely mushroomy sauce and a courgette soufflé. The picture does not do it justice.
Les and Charlie had the lamb, stuffed with lamb confit. Yummy.
And before dessert, we were introduced to the chariot de fromage. 3 or 4 pieces each.
And then dessert. Mine was a lemon tart and once I dug in, I wasn't interested in anyone else's choices so there are no pics of any but mine.;-)
We could justify eating all of this as we had walked 20 km the day before. And just a reminder of the lovely irises (not crocuses) we saw on the garrigue.
