Come and walk with us today

First, tie up your shoes and walk out the door. The albergue in which we have spent the night is in a rural area. Small farms all round and the first thing that hits you is l'aire de la ferme. Sometimes quite strong. And we walk along cobblestoned roads (a bit hard on the knees) and through eucalyptus forests where there is selective logging being done.
And then we walk over a bridge....
And admire the quiet.
But, all the time, we enjoy the flowers, along the roadside
And in a little dip with sheep. These are, what I grew up to call, Easter lilies.
They are all over the place, wild and in gardens.
The wisteria is also at every corner and has such a heady aroma. And then there is the broom. Not a bush, but a tree!!!!

Our first sighting of a Portugese shrine to Santiago or S. Tiago. And after 25km, a bowl of soup for lunch and a pastry for afternoon sugar and we arrive at Ponte de Lima. A lovely walk in and famous for its 300 m long medieval bridge.
And, just on the other side of the bridge is our bed for the night.  5€ each.
Our 'room', taken from my bed, while I was lying down, absolutely thrashed.

Goodnight all. Tomorrow is only 18km but a big steep climb.
